2024 RTCA Award Winners

CAPITOL HILL— The Radio Television Correspondents’ Association of Capitol Hill, founded in 1939 and consisting of broadcast journalists who report on the United States Congress, is thrilled to announce the winners of our 2024 awards. This year’s award winners will be honored on Thursday September 12th, at the RTCA’s annual awards dinner and a first-ever bipartisan Congressional Karaoke contest at the Anthem in Washington, D.C.

Joan Shorenstein Barone Award

2024 Winner: Rachel Scott, ABC News

The Joan Shorenstein Barone Award honors the memory of the late former executive producer of CBS’ “Face the Nation” and is awarded for excellence in coverage of Capitol Hill.


David Bloom Award

2024 Winner: Scripps News: Jason Bellini, Dmytro Horyevoy, Linda Pattillo, Max McClellan, Scott McGhee, Alex Brauer, & Steve Turnham

The David Bloom Award honors the memory of the late NBC News Correspondent and is awarded for excellence in enterprise reporting.


Jerry Thompson Memorial Award

2024 Winner: Victor Ulloa, CBS News

The Jerry Thompson Memorial Award was established by the RTCA Executive Committee in 2012 to honor the late CNN photojournalist and his 25 years of excellence.


Career Achievement Award for Distinguished Reporting on Congress

2024 Honoree: Ted Barrett, CNN
