The RTCA Stands in Solidarity with the Pentagon Press Association
This week, the Executive Committee of Radio/Television Correspondents voted unanimously to join the White House Correspondents’ Association, State Department Correspondents’ Association, and our fellow Executive Committees of the Congressional Press Galleries, to join the following statement in support of our colleagues who cover the Pentagon:
“The White House Correspondents’ Association, the State Department Correspondents’ Association, and the Executive Committees of the Congressional Press Galleries stand in strong solidarity with the Pentagon Press Association as it defends freedom of the press. Access inside the Pentagon has never been about convenience to reporters. The public has a right to know how the government is conducting the people’s business. Unfettered reporting on the U.S. military and its civilian leadership provides a service to those in uniform, veterans, their families and all Americans.”
